Leon Austin Frame

Leon Austin Frame, 90, resident of Cottonwood, passed away on Thursday, September 13, 2007. He was born August 3, 1917 in Sutton, West Virginia to Virgil Austin and Ursley Jane (Arnold) Frame. Leon attended his childhood schooling in Garfield, Ohio. He served his country during WWII in the United States Navy; and was stationed in the South Pacific as a C.B. in the 98th Construction Battalion. During the depression he joined the Civilian Conservation Corp. Leon was employed as an Operating Engineer with the Local 428, working and operating the crane, and other heavy equipment. He enjoyed music, church and especially his family. Leon was a kind and gentle person; who was loved by all who met him. He will be deeply missed by his family and many friends. He leaves behind his loving wife of 49 years, Velma Frame of Cottonwood; two sons, Leon Austin Frame, Jr. of Ackron, Ohio, and Michael E. Mitchell with his wife, Jeanne of Cavecreek, Arizona; his daughter, Linda Heser with her husband, Gordon of Phoenix; six grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2007 at 1:00pm at the One in Christ Church in Cottonwood.
