Leota Maie Anderson, 87 of Cottonwood, passed away on September 2, 2012. She was born on January 27, 1925 in Ignacio, Colorado to Jess Everett Barnett and Thelma Fay Barnett (Smith). Leota attended Ignacio schools for 12 years receiving her diploma. She joined the Army during WWII then later became a housewife. She attended BYU before answering the nation\u0027s call for volunteers and served in the US Army as a WAC. She loved nature and raised several abandoned wild animals. Leota was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Olin Anderson. She is survived by sons Robert E. Anderson of AZ and Bryan Olin Anderson of CA; daughters Barbara (Larry) of CO, Betty (Dan) of AZ, Bev and Bonnie (Gregg) of AZ; brothers Earl Barnett (Ruth) of CO and Jon Barnett (Bonnie) of CO; sister Alice Sutherlin (Fred) of NM; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
