Lois L. Lockett

Lois Lakin Lockett, 92, of Camp Verde died October 14. She was born May 2, 1912 in Fort Scott, Kansas, the daughter of Lloyd and Ethyl Lakin. She attended Kennelworth Elementary in Phoenix, Phoenix Union High School and Mills College in Claifornia. Mrs. Lockett was a retired commercial artist and also worked in quarter horse production and managemnet with her husband. She spent summers on the ranch in Flagstaff for many years. She enjoyed hunting, sketching, painting, ranchwork and poetry writing. Her husband Robert Wallace Lockett, two sisters, Barbara Miller and Meredith Tiffany, preceded her in death She leaves two sons, Robert W. Lockett, Jr. of Prescott and Joseph Lockett of Camp Verde; a brother, Charles Austin Lakin of Phoenix; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 23 in the Westcott Funeral Home in Cottonwood at 2 PM.
