Lois Lee Searcy, 79, resident of Cottonwood passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2008 in the Village of Oak Creek-Sedona. She was born June 8, 1928 in Telford, Tennessee to Henry and Hazel Searcy. Lois attended Jonesboro High School, following which she obtained her CNA license from North Carolina Medical College. She dedicated 15 years working as a private duty nurse for the Davis family of Melborne, Florida. Prior to her nursing career she worked as an operator for Bell Telephone Company and Pacific Telephone Company. She also dedicated her time as a Girl Scout Leader, and she was one of the original founding members of the Oceanside, California Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge. Lois leaves behind two daughters, Beverly Burnworth (James Counter) of Cottonwood, and Bobbie Jo Warner (Jerry Cooper) of Lake Havasu; her sister, Nancy Jo Hamrick of Johnson City, Tennessee; and Stephen C. Huestis of Cottonwood. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Chester Beech. No local services are planned.
