Loneta Janica, 87, resident of Cottonwood, passed away on Friday, June 8, 2007 at the Carefree Assisted Living. She was born on March 9, 1920 in Dallas, Texas. Loneta was fortunate to be raised by her foster parents, Bill and Lily Hurd. Loneta obtained her LVN Degree through the SPON Nursing Hospital, where she also worked. She also worked for the city of San Diego as the office manager in water distribution. Loneta was also a concert pianist and music teacher, and played often at the Luthern churches in Corpus Christi. She was a fun and feisty grandma who always remembered every special occasion. She will be deeply missed by her family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Skira-Janica; her son, F. Robert Janica; and her daughters, Frances Ann Janica and Marcia Ann Janica-Stanley. She leaves behind her son, Edward F. Janica of Cornville; six grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
