Louis Chavez, 83, of Cottonwood, Arizona passed away on Friday, August 15th. He was born in Las Vegas, Nevada on February 17, 1920. Mr. Chavez was a retired CMSergeant, having served in the United States Air Force retiring after thirty one years. He served in World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars; American Legion; and the Disabled American Veterans. Mr. Chavez was also a long time member of Our Lady of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Mr. Chavez is survived by his wife Domenica A. Chavez; two daughters: Michelle I. Papillon of Anchorage, Alaska; Mary Catherine Brimhall of Showlow, Arizona; two sons: L. VAl Chavez of Phoenix, Arizona; Timothy Francis Chavez of Cottonwood, Arizona; three brothers and their wives: Tony and Leonora Ortiz of Mesa, Arizona; Ralph and Delores Chavez of Golden, Colorado; Patrick and Jo Chavez of Pompano Beach, Florida; four sisters: Herminia Sanchez and her husband Wilfred, Sr. of Edgewater, Colorado; Carmen Chaves of Morrison, Colorado; Viola Madril and her husband Roy of Littleton, Colorado; Rita Winters of Seattle, Wachington; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by son: Michael Anthony Chavez and a daughter: Annie Louise Rayburn. A Rosary and visitation will be held at the Westcott Funeral Home 1013 E. Mingus Avenue Cottonwood, AZ from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 4:00 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 21st at Our Lady of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at 11:00 A.M.
