Louis A. Otvos

Louis Alexander, Otvos, 79, of Cottonwood died October 21. He was born Syracuse, New York on May 2, 1926. He graduated Nottingham High School and the University of Southern California (Ventura campus). Mr. Otvos was a retired plant manager. He was a world war II veteran of the Navy. An active member of the VFW Post #7400, he was also Chaplain of VFW Honour Guard. His hobbies included fishing hiking and sailing. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Dorthy (Dotte) Otvos; sons Jeff (and his wife Terry) Otvos of Madera California, Gary Otvos of Los Fresnos, Texas; stepsons, Richard Marosevich of Ontario, Canada and David Marosevich of Galt, California; granddaughters, Gina Otvos of Brownsville, Texas, Kimberly Archibald of Vancouver, British Columbia and Kristen Marosevich of Ontario, Canada; and a brother, Frank Otvos of Mesquite, Nevada. Lou died at home surrounded by love and comfort. His family wishes to thank to Hospice, Pastor Brian Larson and the Sedona Cancer Clinic. A memorial service will be held Thursday, October 27 at Faith Lutheran Church at 10 AM. VFW Post #7400 will provide military honors. Following the service, a celebration of his life will be held at VFW Post 7400, 705 E. Aspen St., Cottonwood. A military Graveside service will be held on Friday, October 28, at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix (Cave Creek) at 9:30 AM.
