May 12, 1905 — September 9, 2004

Lucie McGlumphy, 99, of Cottonwood has returned to her Heavenly Home. Born in Barleban, Germany, her first recollection of her new American home was from the ship Moltke. A shaft of sunlight penetrating the Fog illuminating the Statue of Liberty, signifying hope in the new land. Her family spans five generations, daughter Erna Payton (who preceded her in death); son and daughter-in-law, J. Reed and Pat Howard; seven granddaughters and descendants. She embraced the families of her four stepdaughters as her own. She held many callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. A private family memorial service is to be held at a later date. Inurnement to take place at Mesa City Cemetery in Mesa. Westcott Funeral served the family.
