Lydia E. Kirkley, 89, of Cornville died April 21 at her home in Oak Creek Valley. She was born March 14, 1917 in Cleveland, Ohio. She was a graduate of Collingwood High School. Mrs. Kirkley had served as president of the Hearing and Speech Auxillary in South Bend, Indiana and had been very active in the Faith United Methodist Church of South Bend. She served on many commissions with both the Faith United Methodist Church and the Church of the Red Rocks in Sedona. For many years she hiked with the Sedona Westerners Hiking Club where she served as an officer for several terms. She was also an honorary member of two bridge groups. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Harvey Kwiram. Mrs. Kirkley is survived by her husband of 68 years, Harold Kirkley; two daughters, Leila R. Kirkley and Trudy S. Kirkley; a grandson and many nieces and nephews. Two memorial services will be held. The first memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 23 in the Church of the Red Rocks at 4 PM. The second memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 29 in the Church of the Red Rocks at 3:30 PM.
