Malinda Candes Temmer, known and loved as "Candy", 63, resident of Clarkdale, passed away Monday, November 26, 2007 in Cottonwood. She was born January 13, 1944 in Kirkland, Washington to Roy and Norma Hurlbert. She attended Bear Creek High School in Denver, Colorado-graduating in 1961. After which she went on to extend her education at the Community College of Denver. Candy worked as a home health aid and ran her own daycare business in Denver. She also worked as a waitress; she was a manager for 7-11 in Holyoke, Colorado; and she did construction cleaning. She dedicated much of her time as a volunteer with the local nursing homes. For her service, Candy received many awards-one being "The Mending Lady" Volunteer Award. Candy also enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting, cooking, and fishing. She had a special love of dogs. Candy was a lady of good nature, and delight humor. She was the light of her family\u0027s lives-and they made sure she knew it by presenting her several "Mother/Grandmother of the Year" awards! She will be deeply missed by her family and her friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; a son, Howard R. Harrison; and a brother, Roy W. "Lucky" Hurlbert. She leaves behind her husband of 33 years, Philip Temmer of Clarkdale; her son, Robert W. Harrison with his wife, Barbara of Longmont, Colorado; her daughter, Laura Jones with her husband, Virgil of San Angelo, Texas; her daughter-in-law, Dawna Harrison of Henderson, Nevada; two brothers, Clark Hurlbert with his wife, Sharon of of Denver, Colorado, and Henry Huguenin with his wife, Emma of Florida; two sisters, Rosemarie Stapp with her husband, Jerry of Parker, Colorado, and Lois Blankenship with her husband, Bill of Oxnard, California; as well as, one precious grandchild, Roy W. Brannin. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2007 at 2:00pm at Westcott Funeral Home in Cottonwood.
