Manuel Ballesteros of Cottonwood passed away at home on Thursday, July 10, 2014. He was 74 years old. Manuel was born on August 14, 1939 in Prescott, AZ to Crispin and Guadalupe Mancilla Ballesteros. He grew up in the Verde Valley, attending Clarkdale School and graduating from Mingus Union High School, and spent his life in Arizona. Manuel was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was retired from both the grocery business and from custodial services. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and a life mentor to many members of his family. In fact, he always said that his biggest accomplishment was his family. He played men\u0027s fast pitch for over 20 years throughout the Verde Valley and Prescott areas and golfed for over 50 years. Manuel was preceded in death by his parents, Crispin and Guadalupe, his brother, Crispin Ballesteros and his sisters Ruth Reyes and Betty Luttrell. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Romie Ballesteros; his son Crispin (Jessica) Ballesteros; his daughter, Angelina (Noel) Ballesteros; his brothers, Hubert (Priscilla) Ballesteros and Jesse (Sophia) Ballesteros all of Cottonwood, and his sister Vera Reyes of Clarkdale, five grandchildren, Kylen Ballesteros, Zaiden Ballesteros, Anthony M. Lozano, Charissa (Tom) Zanio and Tiana Lozano; and three great-grandchildren, Taylor, Easton and Dax. Services for Manuel will be held at Westcott Funeral Home, located at 1013 E. Mingus Ave., Cottonwood, AZ 86326, on Friday, July 18, 2014, with a rosary being said at 10:00 AM and the services beginning at 10:30 AM.
