Margaret A. "Mickie" Hewlett, 70, Philip, South Dakota died Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at Rapid City Regional Hospital, Rapid City, South Dakota. Mickie was born December 30, 1942 in Glendive, Montana to Harold and Lucille (Johnson) Adkins and was raised on their family ranch in eastern Montana. Mickie married Sonny Whiteman in November 1958 in Montana and with this union had two daughters Cynthia and Camy. In July 1967 Mickie married Lyle Johnson in Rapid City, South Dakota and then moved to Australia to ranch with her parents. With this union they had a son Randy. After moving back to the states she married her love of her life, Dr. Richard Hewlett in May 7 of 1977 in Las Vegas, NV. They lived and amazing life together for 33 years. Richard died November 11, 2010 in Arizona and then later Mickie moved back to Philip, SD, to be cared for by her son, Randy. Survivors include her sister, Jackie (Jim) Mahoney, Queen Creek, Arizona, brother, Dick (Kathern) Adkins, Bulls Brook, Australia, daughter, Cynthia (Bryce) Starkey, Rapid City, South Dakota, daughter, Camy (Shane) Lohse, Sierra Vista, Arizona, son, Randy (Marsha) Johnson, Philip, South Dakota and 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Mickie was preceded in death by her parents, one son in infancy, and husband Richard. Services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, December 13, 2013 at Kirk Funeral Home in Rapid City, South Dakota with Pastor Gary Wahl officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service. A second service will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at 10:00 am at Westcott Funeral Home in Cottonwood, Arizona with Pastor Randy Sutter officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service. Interment will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Clarkdale, Arizona. An online guestbook is available to sign at www.westcottfuneralhome.com
