Margaret J. Stephens

d. June 3, 2024

Cottonwood

Margaret, “Margie”, Stephens, Christian, daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend, went home to her eternal home June 3, 2024. A school teacher for 38 years, wife for 55+ years, mother of two and grandmother of three. An advocate for helping children read and learn.

Her passion, and her calling by God was to work with children and help them read. She helped them learn and memorize the Bible in AWANA, (Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed, 2 Timothy 2:15), and Sunday School. After retirement, she volunteered at Verde Christian Academy and classrooms that her grandson was in. Her children and grandchildren were all taught to read by her.

Her overriding passion was to serve her Lord in all aspects of her life. She was successful, “well done good and faithful servant”, (Matthew 25:21).

A memorial service will be held on June 29, 2024 at 10:00am at the Journey Church, 750 E Mingus Ave, Cottonwood AZ. In lieu of flowers the family requests that you contribute to Dolly Parton’s imagination library.com, Verde Valley chapter and/or to a local church that has an active AWANA program.
