Marie Leonard

On August 16, 2022, our sister Marie Leonard passed away in God’s graces after a prolonged battle with dementia. She was 85 years old. Marie grew up in the Bronx, New York attended nursing school, and was employed for many years as a registered nurse. She later moved to Sunrise, Florida, and continued in her chosen career at various hospitals in the area before embarking and moving to her favorite space in the southwest, Sedona, Arizona, and never left. She will be dearly missed and always remembered. A loving daughter and sibling throughout her life, she was always the brightest smile in the room. Marie is survived by many loving individuals, including Joseph McDonnell (brother), Linda Torres (sister), James McDonnell (nephew), Lori Leonard (niece), Jennifer Murphy (niece), and Paula Warren (niece). Marie was predeceased by Joseph McDonnell (father), Mary McDonnell (mother), and James Leonard (husband). We will be working on a celebration of life as opposed to a funeral service and will update this information as soon as the family has decided on a date in the future.
