Marilyn Kay Swisher

Marilyn Kay (Fulton) Swisher, aged 71, passed away unexpectedly on January 8th 2025 at home in Clarkdale, Az. She was born on May 9th, 1953 in Kansas City, Kansas. First child of Boyd Fulton and Betty Jo (Coonce) Fulton. 

Marilyn attended Wyandotte High School in Kansas City Kansas and graduated in 1971. Marilyn loved debate in high school and spent many hours working on Vietnam War protest debate speeches with her father. After high school she attended Baker University in Kansas for a short time. 

Marilyn married three times, the first marriage was annulled, and in her second marriage she had her two sons Paul and Johnny Hernandez. Her third marriage was to Glenn Swisher in 1988.She spent most of her life in the KC metro area, Wyandotte County, Shawnee, Kansas and in Missouri, Raymore, and Raytown. In 2018 retirement, led Marilyn and Glenn to Clarkdale, Az. While in retirement Marilyn took a part time job at Rickeldoris in Jerome, AZ. She loved her co-workers and the town of Jerome, and made many friends. Everyone knew she was a big Kansas City Chiefs fan. She loved wearing all her Chiefs gear to work, to maybe annoy a lot of people, but all in fun. She was also a big basketball fan of the Kansas Jayhawks, and loved watching March Madness and the Final Four. She was energetic, hard working, fun, and could relate to people. 

Marilyn is survived by her spouse Glenn Swisher of 36 years; her sons Paul Hernandez and Johnny Hernandez; her brother John Fulton, and sister Shelly (Hayes) Fulton; stepdaughter Tara Swisher; and stepsons Scott Swisher and Brian Swisher; and Seven grandchildren. Preceding Marilyn in death are her mother Betty Jo (Coonce) Fulton, and her father Boyd Fulton. 

Memorial will be held Saturday, January 18th 1pm to 3pm at Westcott Funeral Home in Cottonwood, AZ 86326. Online condolences may be shared at www.westcottfuneralhome.com. Memorial donations, in Marilyns memory may be directed to Verde Valley Humane Society 1520 W. Mingus Avenue, Cottonwood, AZ 86326
