Marion J. White, 84, of Cottonwood died May 16. He was born September 24, 1921 in Sage, Arkansas, the son of the late Marion Sr. and Stella (Harvelle) White. He was raised and attended school in Sage, Arkansas. He entered the Army in 1942 and served in France, Germany, Luxemburg and Northern Canada, He married Irene McDonald on June 6, 1944 in Edmondton, Alberta, Canada. Following his honorable discharge, they made their home in Wenatchee, Washington. Marion went to work in the orchards around Wenatchee and when ALCOA opened in 1952 he went to work as a material unloader. He worked at ALCOA for 31 ½ years working as casting machine operator. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Irene, who died in 1981 in Wenatchee. He married Donna L. Spurgeon on September 17, 1982 in Wenatchee where they lived until moving to Cottonwood in 1989. Marion was a member of the Cottonwood Lions Club, a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a former member of the Elks. He was a former member of St. Thomas of the Valley Episcopal Church and later attended the Church of the Red Rocks in Sedona. He leaves his wife Donna L. White; a son, George H. White in Roanoke, Indiana; a sister, Mary Ferry of Wenatchee, Washington; and two grandchildren. There are no services planned in Arizona.
