Martin Torrez, 84 of Cottonwood, passed away on November 16, 2014. He was born on January 1, 1930 in Flagstaff, AZ to Eduardo and Silevira Torrez. Martin attended school in Flagstaff. He worked with the Teamsters local 383, in construction and as a truck driver. He worked on the Glen Canyon Dam. Martin enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing, gardening, family, raising his chickens and his best friend "Amigo". Martin was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Ann Torrez; sons Edward Martin and Baby John and siblings Lita Lucero, Ernest Torrez and Alice O\u0027Brien. He is survived by daughters Priscilla Smith (Norman) of Camp Verde and Silvia Trujillo (Tom) of Cornville; siblings Ben Torrez (Christine) of Cottonwood, Elmo Torrez (Armeda) of Cottonwood, Celso Torrez of New Mexico and Carmen Torrez of Phoenix; 8 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. The Rosary will be said on Friday, November 21 from 6:00pm to 7:00pm at Westcott Funeral Home in Cottonwood. The Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 1:00pm at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 700 N. Bill Gray Road in Cottonwood.
