Mary Ann C. Rapoport

February 2, 1931 — August 14, 2005

Mary Ann Rapoport, age 74, died peacefully, surrounded by her family, in her home in Sedona, Arizona, on Sunday, August 14. A native of Tomahawk and Green Bay, Wisconsin, Mary Ann was a drum majorette, model (wedding were a specialty), radio host (many a Packer fell under her spell while being interviewed on "A Date With Mary Ann"), and flight attendant for American Airlines before marriage and the birth of her five children. During her kids' "Wonder Bread" years, Mary Ann was an active member of the Mountain Lakes, New Jersey, community, directing the annual Laker Follies (and donning the occasional sequined outfit as required), writing occasional humor pieces for the Morris County Daily Record, and selling real estate.Ten years ago, Mary Ann moved to Sedona, where she thrived on the friendship of the red rock community. She loved her work at Remax Realty and Southwest Photo Gallery. A cancer survivor, she also enjoyed volunteering at St. Jude's Hospital as a counselor for persons newly diagnosed with cancer. Mary Ann is survived by her brother Henry Wudlick; her five children, Ross Rapoport, Margaret Van Andel, Catherine Kozachenko, Elizabeth Rapoport, and Amy Whitworth; and eight grandchildren. There will be a celebration of this greatly adored and deeply loved woman's life (no black, please!) at her home on Saturday, September 3, at 3:00. In lieu of flowers, Mary Ann's family requests donations to St. Jude's Children's Hospital (www.stjude.org) An online guestbok is available at www.westcottfuneralhome.com
