Maude R.Greiner, 87, of the Village of Oak Creek passed away peacefully October 29 surrounded by her family. She was born January 7, 1916 to William and Mildred Reed in Bay City, Michigan. She graduated from Chowchilla High School, valedictorian of her class in 1934, Chowchilla, California. She graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a Bachelors of Arts degree in languages, class of 1938. Maude was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 59 years, Emmett; a son Keith and daughter-in-law, Jeannie of Castro Valley, California; daughter Diana Holley and son-in-law John of San Jose, California; grandsons Nicholas and Christopher Greiner and Kevin Holley. Maude lived in San Carlos, California for 21 years. Moved to Village of Oak Creek in 1976 and lived there for 28 years. Maude was a teacher, artist and linguist. She worked in the Department of Censorship during World War II. Maudie will be remembered by her caring family and friends for her love of animals, her quick wit and sense of humor, her creativity, love of travel, yard sales and her pursuit of a good deal. Maude volunteered in Association of University Women and Antiques Club. There are no public services planned. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be amde to the Northern Arizona Hospice, 269 S. Candy lane, Cottonwood, AZ 86326. Westcott Funeral Home is directing these arrangements.
