Maude Olivia Reno, 90, formerly of Flagstaff, Arizona and Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, died May 19th in Arizona. She was born February 24, 1915, to Edith Mae (Henneberger) and Lewis J. Mutchler, in Chester, Montana, where her parents were homesteading. When she was five, the family returned to Blackwood, New Jersey, where she spent the rest of her childhood. Maude studied nursing at Episcopal Hospital School of Nursing in Philadelphia, where her mother and her aunt had gone before her. She earned her RN in 1936 and worked as a nurse in Philadelphia, New York City, Houston, Kalamazoo, and Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Maude was an active member of the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany, in Flagstaff, Arizona from 1971 until her retirement to Sedona in 1998, and of Trinity Episcopal Church, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania for 25 years before that. She was a member of the Eastern Star in both Pennsylvania and Arizona. Throughout her life, Maude was an active clubwoman, volunteering countless hours to the Easter Seal Society, Girl Scouts, Garden Club, Medical Alliance, Pilot Club, and the Museum of Northern Arizona. She was a past president of both the LeHigh County, PA and the Coconino County, AZ, Medical Alliance, and served a term as the State President for the Arizona State Medical Alliance. In her later years, Maude renewed her nursing license and worked as a private duty nurse in the Phoenix area and Flagstaff until well into her 70\u0027s. Maude is survived by her husband of almost 63 years, Dr. Joseph H. Reno of Sedona, Arizona, one son, J. David Reno, of Boston, Massachusetts, and three daughters, Sally Jo Elliott, of Austin, Texas, Diana J. Farber-Reno of Peterborough, New Hampshire, and Deborah M. Reno of Albuquerque, New Mexico. She is also survived by one brother, James Mutchler of Runnemede, New Jersey, and three sisters, Jane Mutchler of Bourne, Massachusetts, Emma Mutchler of Teaneck, New Jersey, and Florence Warrington of Seminole, Florida. Another brother, Thomas Mutchler, died in 2002. Maude had five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Maude was buried in Nisky Hill Cemetery, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. There will be Memorial services in her honor at 2pm on June 11th, at the Church of the Epiphany, Flagstaff, Arizona and at 2pm on July 2nd at Trinity Episcopal Chruch, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
