Melvin Clifford Jackson, 74 of Camp Verde, passed away on November 29, 2010 in Flagstaff. He was born on November 20, 1936 in Camp Verde to Willie and Rose (Clem) Jackson. Melvin attended Phoenix Indian School and Camp Verde School. He also served in the Army. He worked for Anamax Mining Co. in Tucson, Anaconda Mining Co. in New Mexico, a maintenance man for the City of Cottonwood and for Yavapai Apache Sand and Rock on the reservation. Melvin enjoyed fishing, hunting, working on vehicles and loved animals especially his pets Duke and Babe. Melvin is preceded in death by his baby son Melvin, Jr. and parents Willie and Rose. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Elda; daughter Phyllis Jackson of Camp Verde; niece Karen Gentry of Camp Verde; brother Danny Jenkins of Camp Verde; sisters Eliza Jones (Wesley) of Blackwater, AZ, Flora Engle of Payson, Vivian Burdette of Payson, Rose Morgan (Pat) of Payson, Debra Telese (Robert) of Camp Verde, Carol Williams of Camp Verde and numerous nieces and nephews.
