Mercedes Rodriguez Oceguera, 72 of Cottonwood, passed away with her family at her home on May 4, 2013. She was born on May 19, 1940 in Jalisco, Mexico, the daughter of J. Carmen Oceguera and Maria de Jesus Lopez. Formerly a resident of Riverside, California; she retired in Cottonwood, Arizona and was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church and Eucharist Minister and also served as a Greeter. She loved cooking, sewing, traveling, volunteering at her Parish and spending time with her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and her community. She is survived by her husband Salvador Rodriquez of 55 years; her children Guillermo, Hugo, Mary, Fernando, Lupe and Carmen; grandchildren Guillermo Jr., Vanessa, Elianna, Nathan, Adriana, Alexis, Xana, Yazmine, Fernando Jr., Madison, Devon, Amanda, Elijah, Daniel and Sarahi; two great-grandchildren Melissa and Daelen and three step-grandchildren Anthony, Bertha and Angel. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be Tuesday, May 7 in Westcott Funeral Home at 6:00pm. A funeral mass will be Wednesday, May 8 in Immaculate Conception Church at 9:00am. Burial will follow in All Souls Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Immaculate Conception Building Fund, 700 N. Bill Gray Road, Cottonwood, AZ 86326.
