Merle Jean McCommon

Merle Jean McCommon, a resident of Clarkdale passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2015. She was 89 years old. Merle was born on September 15, 1925 in Rimrock, AZ to John and Myrtle McMenamin, a third generation native of the Verde Valley. She attended primary school in Beaver Creek and high school in the Phoenix area. Merle grew up exploring around the Rimrock area. She loved the desert and the Verde Valley and was proud of her local heritage. Merle was a wonderful grandma. She was a family first person who loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Merle is survived by her two sons, Terry McCommon of Clarkdale and Edward (Linda) McCommon of TX; her brother, Emmitt McMenamin of Cornville; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
