Michael Richard Gerrie, 62, resident of Cottonwood, AZ, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2005. He was born to Eugene and Ruth Gerrie on February 8, 1943 in Los Angeles, CA, where he grew up; attending and graduating from Woodrow Wilson High School, as well as, he attended his first year at East L.A. College. Mike was a proud member of the Los Angeles Mongols Motor Cycle Club since 1970 and served as President from 1971-1976 at the Los Angeles Chapter... 'Diablo', 'Fingers', 'Big Art' and so many others who became lifetime friends, your unbreakable brotherhood formed will forever remain with Mike...you indeed were, the brothers he never had. Mike was a hard worker and a good provider. He dedicated over 18 years of employment to the trucking industry and when he wasn't out on the road he was utilizing his talents as an artist and carpenter to provide other means of support. Mike found his greatest joy and success at home. He was always busy working around the house, beautifing it with his magnificant pieces of woodwork or doing whatever home improvments that needed to be done. Mike was very adamant about keeping up with the local news in and around the Verde Valley, and faithfully took every Wednesday to read the local newspapers. He loved his pets, and especially enjoyed spending time with his favorite dog, 'Choo-Choo'. Most of all, he loved his family. He was a loving and dedicated father, a caring and adoring grandfather, but above all, he was a devoted and charished husband, who spent every minute of everyday, loving his sweet wife of 40 years. His example of undying love has taught us all, that it truely is the small things, that mean the most...and his influence of such will remain with us all forever. Mike is preceded in death by his father, Eugene, who was killed in Germany during WWII when Mike was only 3 years old; his step-father, Raymond Johns, who raised Mike from the age of 6 and loved him as his own. Mike's son, Mario also precedes him in death.
