Michael Gillen

Michael S. Gillen was born November 22, 1943, to Michael and Frances Gillen of Campbell, Ohio. He passed away peacefully on September 28, 2024.

Mike was proud to have served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was an accomplished pilot and flight instructor. He formerly owned the Black Cat Bar in Seligman, AZ where he had a home until January 2024.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by his long-term partner, Claudia Hilton, the love of his life. He is survived by his sisters Mary Alice Fedor and her daughter Alexis, Regina Gillen, and Maureen Shillington (Dave) and their three children, Nathan (Natalie), Luke (Hana) and Meghan Robinson (Chris), and by great nephew David Robinson, and great nieces Ivy Robinson, Virginia Gulotta, Braelyn, Kendal, Finley and Noor Shillington.

We are so appreciative for the loving and meticulous care that he received at Mingus Manor assisted living facility, and its owner, Lori Fruchey, and all of the caregivers there. We also want to offer a special thanks to Steve Williams who was Mike’s friend to the end.

Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday October 8, 2024, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Seligman at 1:00pm. Burial will follow in Seligman Public Cemetery.
