Michael J. Moriarty, 69, of Cottonwood AZ died peacefully at his home on June 2, 2011. Michael was a gentle soul who was born in New Britain CT, the beloved son of John and Helen Guiheen Moriarty, originally of County Kerry, Ireland. An avid car and aviation enthusiast, Michael was very proud of his Irish Heritage. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving during the Vietnam War era. Michael retired from the West Hartford CT Police Department and moved to Cottonwood, AZ. There he was a volunteer member of the Yavapai County Sheriff\u0027s Department. Michael is survived by his sisters Maureen Bannon (William) of Sudbury, MA, Johanna Dube (Rodney) of West Springfield, MA, brother Maurice (Margaret) of Exeter, NH, and brother-in-law Eugene Harding of Avon, CT, several nieces, nephews and many cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, sister Kathleen Harding, and his wife Nancy Moriarty of Newington, CT and his wife Nancy Fry of Cottonwood AZ.
