Michael Ray Baker, 54, of Cottonwood, Arizona passed away on April 28, 2016. In the late 1970\u0027s, he joined Yavapai County Sherriff\u0027s Cadets. Then in the early 80\u0027s he worked as a police dispatcher with the Cottonwood Police Department and served as a police officer with the Clarkdale Police Department. He volunteered hundreds of hours with the Cottonwood Police Athletic League. He served two terms on Verde Valley Fair Association Board of Directors. In addition, he provided security of numerous fair events and volunteered numerous hours to the Verde Valley Fair. He worked for the Town of Camp Verde Marshal\u0027s Office as an animal control officer and police dispatcher. During the mid 1990\u0027s he worked as a private investigator and process server. From 1997 to 2001, elected to the Cottonwood City Council and devoted himself to be a voice for the people. He also worked as a recovery agent, bouncer, and bartender and in sales for various entities. In his later years he worked as a bail bond agent, which was his occupation upon his death. Mike was proceeded in death by his father Bill Baker, Step father Clyde Hance, grandparents Ray and Josephine Books. He is survived by his mother Nancy Hance, brother and sister-in- law Jeff and Nancy Baker, daughter, Christine Riggi and two granddaughters Kora Riggi and LeAnna Riggi. There will be a Celebration of Life held in his honor on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at the New Hope Christian Fellowship, 1760 E Villa Drive, Cottonwood, AZ 86326 at 11 a.m. Information provided by survivors.
