Neil Patrick Murray passed away on March 5, 2019, at the age of 93 in Cottonwood, Arizona. He was born on January 24, 1926, near Union, Oklahoma to Herbert Dale and Florence Zimmerman Murray. He attended schools at Verden, Dover, Mustang, and Putnam City. As a boy he began working in construction helping his father build homes in Oklahoma City. He was drafted into World War II while a senior in high school, trained at Birmingham, Alabama, and then sent to Germany via Scotland and England. He served 3 1/2 years as a mechanic in the army overseas. After his discharge he returned to Oklahoma City and resumed working in construction. Neil was employed for 35 years with J. W. Skaggs Construction Company as Job Superintendent. Neil was an avid beekeeper for many years, a fanatic fisherman, and a serious gardener. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Ruth Ann, and 3 children, 6 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Bob Murray of Kingfisher, Oklahoma. A memorial will be held at a later date.
