Nelda Marilyn "Lyn" Taft

Nelda Marilyn "Lyn" Taft, 77, passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2008 at the Dobson House (Hospice) in Tempe, Arizona. Lyn was born in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada on July 29, 1930. She was the oldest daughter of the late Ellis W. and Kathleen (Dean) Liddle; and the wife of the late Howard Taft. Lyn graduated as a nurse in 1951; she and Howard were married in November of 1951. Originally, they settled in Ann Arbor, Michigan; then moved to Phoenix in 1978, and retired to Cottonwood where they were both active in the community. Lyn was a very accomplished crafter and looked forward to selling her crafts at the Christmas Boutiques in Cottonwood. Her family and friends all boost of her talent in the gifts and unique articles she made for them over the years. She was well loved in her craft and ceramic groups. Lyn will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Lyn is survived by her four sons, Charles (Georgeanne), David (Kay), John, and Richard (Merybeth); seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Joan Marx of Vernon, British Columbia, Canada. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the ALS Society-Arizona Chapter, c/o John Taft, 512 W. Dreke Drive, Tempe, Arizona 85283. Funeral Services will be held at Westcott Funeral Home with Pastor Jeremy Peters officiating on Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at 10:30am. Interment will be at the Valley View Cemetery in Clarkdale.
