Norma L. Webb

November 22, 1923 — September 2, 2005

"The Queen of our Hearts" Our beloved Norma of Lake Montezuma left us on September 2, 2005 at the Cottonwood hospital in the presence of loved ones. She was the daughter of Lacy Belle Ivy and Rodney D Swords, born November 22, 1923 in Gridley, Kansas. She graduated from Grossmont Union High School, Grossmont, California, with the class of 1941. Norma was an accountant employed with the State of Washington. She was a longtime resident of Puyallup, Washington and Carlton, Washington. Her last adventure in life was the drive along with her daughter, Sharon, and son-in-law, Richard, when the three moved to Lake Montezuma, Arizona. These last 2 ½ years were greatly loved and cherished in her new home and surroundings which she referred to as her beautiful "High Desert Oasis". Norma shall never be forgotten. Her love of friends and family shall be enshrined and cherished by those who knew and loved her. She was a kind and gentle woman, loving to the core, always forgiving and supportive. Her final gift to her husband was the message on this card for their 49th anniversary: Beyond the Sunset Should you go first and I remain to walk the road alone, I'll live in memory's garden, with happy days we've know. In spring I'll wait for roses red, when faded the pansies blue, In early fall when brown leaves fall, I'll catch a glimpse of you. Should you go first and I remain for battles to be fought, Each thing you've touched along the way will be a hallowed spot. I'll hear your voice, I'll see your smile, tho blindly I may grope, The memory of your helping hand will buoy me on with hope. Should you go first and I remain, one thing I'll have you do, Walk slowly down that long long path, for soon I'll follow you. I want to know each step you take, so I may take the same. For someday down that lonely road, you'll hear me call your name. -Author unknown Norma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Wayman J (Red) Webb in 2002 after 49 years of marriage, her brothers Jerry Toomey, Dennis Swords, Harold Lee Swords, Wayne Swords and her grandson, Richard Wayman Harris. Norma is survived by daughters Sharon Casmier (Richard) of Lake Montezuma, Arizona, Marilyn Clary (John) of Union, Washington, grandchildren Deanna Bender of Tacoma, Washington, Norma Champlain (Paul) of Graham, Washington, Don Harris (Emily) of Seattle, Washington and 8 great-grandchildren. Memorial service will be held at a later date in Washington State. She takes with her the spirit of her final companion, Mindy, her devoted little dog that passed away one week before her, where she will be reunited once again with her husband "Red". Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Humane Society for animals affected by Hurricane Katrina at 1521 W Dobbins Rd, Phoenix AZ 85041
