Norman Theodore Roragen

Norman Theodore Roragen, 91, of Cottonwood died June 30. He was born August 7, 1912 in Douglas, Arizona. He was a graduate of Fertile, Minnesota High School and Aackers Business College. He was an Army veteran of World War II, honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant. He was awarded a Bronze Star. He retired as a salesman for Weirs Furniture in Lewiston, Montana and had been owner and operator of the Mountain View Motel. Previously he had owned a hardware store. Mr. Roragen was a member of the American Legion, Eagles, was a past president of the Kiwanis Club and served as an Alderman on the Lewiston, Montana City Council. He also had served as president of the Highway Association and was responsible for Federal Highway #2 from Deluth, Minnesota to Spokane, Washington. He leaves his wife of 57 years, Ordell Hansen Roragen; five daughters, Mrs. Ora Lundgren (June) of Phoenix, Mrs. Merle Olson (Della) of Cottonwood, Mrs. Gerald Behrmann (Gayla)of Cottonwood, Mrs. Harold Lee (Arlene) of Taylor, and Mrs. Gale Hakes (Glenda) of Phoenix; a brother Melford Roragen of Fertile, Minnesota; thirty-one grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held on Saturday, July 3 in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Burial will be in the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix. Westcott Funeral Home directed these arrangements.
