Owen Julius McIntosh

Owen Julius McIntosh - Born January 1, 1922 in Louisville, Kentucky to Owen W. and Louise McIntosh. The oldest of four brothers 2 of which preceded him in death - Kenneth W. of Fairhope, Al and O. Keith of Showsville, VA. Survived by William N. McIntosh (Catherine) of Louisville, KY. Preceded in death by first wife, Diane Snyder and then two daughters, Kenno Merle and Karen. Second wife, Edith, also dead. After his school, he enlisted in the Kentucky National Guard 138th Field Art. in 1940. Earned seven overseas marks (42 months) for service in WWII Pacific, received three invasion arrowheads for Okinawa, Leyte and Samar invasions. Also got several other battle stars. He returned to Kentucky in late 1945 as Master Sergeant, was commissioned 2nd Lieutenant and later resigned as 1st Lieutenant to move to Arizona. He moved to Tucson in 1947 where he owed and operated a Recording studio and service. Later had amateur radio equipment sales and repair company. At this time he developed and patented an electronics device to remove background noise from old Ediphone Cylinders as well as older recorders. He was an avid home radio operator as well as a motorcycle enthusiast. He also helped develop and test a laser beam bomb sights as well as guarded missile systems. He also worked on and tested radio system antennas used on lunar surface moon-walks. Settled in Cottonwood where he again became involved in home radio repair, etc. There is no public service planned. Westcott Funeral Home handled these arrangements.
