Patricia Fabritz Haettenschwiller, 94, passed away January 10. Pat was born August 3, 1926 in Oskaloosa, Iowa to George A. and Mary Ellen Harden. She was a graduate of Ottumwa College in Iowa. She married the love of her life, Paul E. Fabritz on November 9, 1949. They moved to Arizona in 1954. In the early 60’s, Pat had a welcome service to new residents in the Flagstaff area. Later, she approached the Coconino County Extension Home Economist about doing a television show about low cost, nutritious meals. The show was called “Thrifty Kitchen” and aired on KOAI-TV in the northland area. Pat decided to run for the Coconino County Recorders Office which she won and served from 1972-1975. She was then named to be the Arizona Assistant Secretary of State by Secretary of State Wesley Bolin, where she served from 1975-1977. She replaced Rose Mofford who became the assistant director of the Arizona Department of Revenue. She is preceded in death by her husband Paul in 2002. Her sister, Mary Ellen, passed away in 2013/ Pat leaves five children, Mark (wife Linda) of Flagstaff, Matt (wife Terri) of Flagstaff, Mike (wife Sandi) of Punkin Center, Mary Anne Fabritz of Clarkdale and Marty (wife Lisa) of Payson; 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren (with one more coming). A Rosary/Vigil Service will be held on Thursday, January 21 in the Westcott Funeral Home at 3 PM. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, January 22 in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at 11 AM She will be missed.
