Patricia Colston, 71, of Lake Montezuma, Arizona, passed away Thursday, July 15, 2010. She was born November 28, 1938, in Los Angeles, daughter of James and Betty Turnbull. She worked in the banking industry most of her adult life. Her "persistent" personality was a perfect match for the collections department of the bank. Pat was very involved in the communities in which she lived. While living in Temecula, California, she was an original member of the local Trauma Intervention Program known as TIPS. She would be summoned at all hours of the day and night by first responders to respond to all types of incidents and assist families in need. While living in Lake Montezuma, she volunteered with the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office and she was a valuable asset for the Camp Verde United Methodist Church, heading up the Soul Care Program. Pat was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star and Red Hat Society. Pat enjoyed collecting Windmills in her earlier years, antique tins while her children were young, and carousels as they matured. Her family describes her as a genuine, "matter of fact" lady with a "persuasive personality." She was a die hard Oakland Raiders Fan and always accepted the challenge of non-Raider fans! Pat and her husband Roy, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in December of 2009. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, James and Betty Turnbull; and great-granddaughter, Jamiyah. She is survived by her husband Roy; sister, Bobbi and her husband Bob; daughters, Suzy and Cyndi; and son, James and wife Kristy; granddaughters, Shanee, Ashley, Kali, and Madison; grandsons, Joshua and Tim; great- grandsons, Michael, Sosefo, Charles, Dacion, Braesean, and Sean. Also great-granddaughters, Tezjahnai and Sha'Nessah. Her greatest attribute was the strength she gathered through her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. We will miss you Pat, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. A small gathering of family and friends took place in Camp Verde Arizona on July 17th, 2010. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Camp Verde Methodist Church in Pat's honor. Info provided by family members.
