Paul Allen Gates

Paul Allen Gates of Cottonwood passed away on Monday, February 9, 2015. He was 84 years old. Paul was born on August 14, 1930 in Chicago, IL to John and Hazel Gates. He attended the University of Wisconsin at Madison and graduated with a BS and he served his country in the Army during the Korean War, earning 2 Bronze Stars and the UN Service Medal. Before retirement, Paul was an aerospace engineer, and he enjoyed golfing and fishing in his leisure time. Paul was preceded in death by his brother Carl and one sister, Lorraine Nodoll. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Arlene; two sons, Dana Gates and Kurt (Kristi) Gates; two sisters, Mary of FL and Jean of CA; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
