Paul R. Renner

Paul Robert Renner, age 89, died on April 20, 2006. He is survived by his Wife of 50-years, Evelyn L. Renner, his six children, Dawn Marie Hoffman, Victor Renner (wife Linda), Dennis Renner (wife Glenda), Debbie Cotton (husband Tom), Daniel Renner, David Renner (wife Paula), eight grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. His death was peaceful and occurred at home while surrounded by family members. As a child, Paul\u0027s parents had a 160-acre farm near Montgomery City, Missouri where he and his sister, Lois, walked five miles to attend their one-room country schoolhouse. He was orphaned at the age of twelve and later he and his sister moved with their grandmother to California. where he joined the family of his aunt and uncle. A year later they homesteaded at Twenty-nine Palms, California where Paul lived for the next 22-years. During that time he served in the Civilian Conservation Corps doing forestry in Northern California and on the Grand Teton in Wyoming. Upon returning to California he worked in the goldmines near Twenty-nine Palms and also learned masonry and many other construction skills. Paul and Evelyn were married in 1955 and began life together in New Mexico before moving to Cottonwood, Arizona in 1964. Paul worked masonry and other forms of construction before accepting employment as a custodian at Mingus Union High School where he retired in 1982 after 15-years of service. His hobbies included rock-hunting, lapidary, hiking, woodcarving and roller skating but his true passion remained organic gardening several acres of land. He grew vegetables, fruit and pecan trees, and berries for the mutual enjoyment of his family, friends and neighbors. There are no services planned.
