Paulina K. Szolack,beloved Mother of Kathryn Adams (Adam) of Cornville, Arizona, Dr. Phyllis Buckwalter(Richard) of Horsham and Dr. Alfreda Bruen (George)of Fairfield Bay, AR passed on March 8, 2004 in Cottonwood, Arizona. Born in 1906 in New York City she married Joseph Szolack on July 22, 1922. The newlyweds moved to Philadelphia. In 1931, they bought a farm outside Newton, Pennsylvania where they raised their daughters. After many years of farming, they built a grocery/general store, Jay\u0027s market. In 1964, they sold the store and retired, remaining in their Dolington home. After the passing of Joseph in 1988, Paulina continued to live in their home, spending much time reading and garadening. An avid reader, she kept abreast of current events and the Hollywood scene. After selling her home she moved to Horsham with daughter Phyllis, making frequent visits to Memphis and Fairfield Bay to be with daughter Alfreda. In 1997, she moved to Bonita, California to live with daughter Kathryn who later moved to Arizona. In addition to her daughters with spouses, Paulina is survived by nine grandchildren with spouses, thirteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Loved by all she will be sadly missed and long remembered. All funeral services for Mrs. Szolack will be held in Pennsylvania. Visitation will be Tuesday evening, March 16th from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Swartz/Givnish Funeral Home, 323 Washington Avenue, Newton, PA. Interment will take place Wednesday, March 17th at 11:00 A.M. at the Newton Cemetery. Westcott Funeral Home in Cottonwood assisted the family with the Arizona arrangements.
