Pedro Trevino Villanueva, 81, resident of Cottonwood, Arizona, passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2006. He was born on May 5, 1925 to Encarnacion and Ponciana (Trevino) Villanueva in Mercedes, Texas. Pedro served his country during WWII, as well as during the Korean Conflict. He served in the United States Navy as Seaman First Class and as Staff Sergeat in the United States Army. Pedro proudly served on the USS Phoenix, and later was employed with the Navajo Army Depot. Pedro's favorite pastimes included fishing and hunting. Pedro leaves behind his loving wife of 53 years, Carolina V. Villanueva of Cottonwood, Arizona; his sons, Pedro Villanueva Jr. of Pueblo, Colorado, and Alfredo V. Villanueva, Sr. with his wife, Ana, of Cottonwood, Arizona; as well as, 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. A Visitation will be held at Westcott Funeral Home, 1013 E. Mingus Ave, in Cottonwood, Arizona on Sunday, July 9, 2006 from 3:00-5:00pm, with the Rosary beginning at 4:00pm. A Funeral Mass will follow on Monday morning, July 10, 2006 at 10:00am at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 700 N. Bill Grey Rd., also in Cottonwood, Arizona.
