Phillip Eugene Sims

Phillip Eugene Sims, 80 of Clarkdale died August 25. He was born August 11, 1930 in Prescott, the son of Alva Merritt Sims and Perry Inez Sims. He was a graduate of Prescott High School and served his country in the Navy during World War II and Korea. Mr. Sims worked for Arizona Public Service for 35 years. He was a member of the Verde Baptist Church since 1953. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, jeeping and singing. He will be remembered as a loving husband and father. Mr. Sims was preceded in death by his parents, a brother John Lewis and sister Patricia. He leaves his wife of 57 years, Marilyn Sims; sons Jason (Liz) of Flagstaff and Phillip of Phoenix; a brother Karl (and his late wife Pat) of Prescott; sisters Edith (and her late husband Mack) of Prescott, Barbara (Dexter) of Colorado and Mary Jo of California; two grandsons Jonathan and Barrett of Phoenix. A memorial service will be held Friday, September 3 in the Verde Baptist Church at 10 AM. He will be inurned at the Precott National Cemetery.
