Phyllis E. Wilson, 79, resident of Cottonwood, passed away on Friday, May 25, 2007 in Tempe. She was born January 28, 1928 in Cottonwood to John Luther and Charlotte Barr White. She was raised in the Verde Valley, where she attended the Clemenceau School; Elementary through high school. Phyllis was a member of the Verde Baptist Church and served as the Secretary of the Board of Education. She also sang in the choir, taught Sunday school, and served on the Board of Deaconess for nine years. She enjoyed music, fishing, painting and other crafts. Her love for her family was endless. She was a devoted wife, a dedicated mother and an adoring grandma. Phyllis is preceded in death by her daughter, Kathleen Anderson; and her step-son, Charles Roberts. She leaves behind her beloved husband of 39 years, Fred Wilson of Cottonwood; her daughters, Linda Schaetzle with her husband, Dennis of Prescott Valley, Ellen Ferris with her husband, Stan of Tempe, Elaine Drury with her husband, Butch of Lafayette, Tennessee, and Kay Densmore with her husband, Bob of Texas; eleven grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. A Visitation will be held on Friday, June 1, 2007 from 5:00-7:00pm at Westcott Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will follow Saturday morning, June 2, 2007 at 11:00am at the Verde Baptist Church.
