Raymond Lavern Miles, born in February 23, 1918, has passed away on December 16, 2010. He grew up in rural New York State and graduated high school in 1936. Prior to the war he worked for the local Dairyman\u0027s League and later as a machinist during World War II. After the war they bought a 100 acre farm in Gilbertsville , NY . They sold the farm in 1948 and moved to Southern California . He worked for North American Aviation and Rockwell International until his retirement in 1978 when they moved to Red Bluff, California . He was active in golf and in his spare time he drove school buses and cleaned the local elementary school. In 1989 they moved to Camp Verde to share life with his son and daughter in law. Ray was very active in driving for Meals on Wheels, local golf at Beaver Creek and the Camp Verde Kiwanis Club. He is survived by his wife Barbara M. Miles, son Robert B. Miles; daughter in law Christine L. Miles; daughter Teryl R. Poulton and son in law Robert Poulton. They have four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held at Parkside Community Church in Camp Verde on Wednesday, December 22 at 10:00am with the service at 11:00am.
