Rebecca Van Dine, 81, of Cottonwood died April 2 in Glendale. She was born April 23, 1928 in Eagle Rock, Virginia, the daughter of Archibald and Melinda (Sparks) Baldwin. She had worked as a Unit Clerk at the former Marcus J. Lawrence Hospital, (now Verde Valley Medical Center). Mrs. Van Dine was a member of the Cottonwood Assembly of God and enjoyed crocheting, reading and baking. Her husband, Leo Van Dine preceded her in death. She leaves her sons, Jim Midkiff (Arlene) of Cornville, Mike Midkiff (Debbie) of Cottonwood, David Midkiff (Brenda) of Camp Verde, and Dale Midkiff (Jeanette) of Camp Verde; a daughter Joyce Yackley (Al) of Glendale; and a step-daughter, Melissa DeVries (Dale) of Page; a sister Louise Estep (Tom) of Tennessee; 15 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 7 in the Cottonwood Assembly of God at 10 AM. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery.
