Richard P. Hill, 90, of Cornville died January 19, 2012. He was born December 1, 1921 in Peoria, Arizona the son of John T. and Nellie Hill. He was graduated from Peoria Grade School and served his country as a sergeant in the Army with distinction. Mr. Hill opened Halstead Sawmill in Cottonwood. He worked at the Phoenix Cement Plant for over thirty years and was also a rancher. He was a member of the Coconino and Verde Valley Sheriff\u0027s Possee for over fifty years. He enjoyed rodeo and roping and ranching. He will be remembered as a great friend, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be missed. He was preceded in death by his wife Carrie Hill. He leaves daughters Pat Pennington (Harold) and Phyllis Pirtle (Darrell); a brother Don Hill Hill (Babe) all of Cornville; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
