Richard Kevin, 66, of Cottonwood, passed away on April 29 at Verde Valley Medical Center. Richard was the only child of Richard and Eleanore Kevin. Born in Fort Benning, Georgia, Richard graduated from Gilman Prep School, attended Cornell University, and graduated from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. He was employed for 31 years with U.S. West as an engineer. He retired in 1998 and moved to Cottonwood where he volunteered at the Cottonwood Public Library, Chamber of Commerce, Spirit of Joy Lutheran Church, and served on the Cottonwood City Planning and Zoning Board. He enjoyed flying radio controlled airplanes and building ship models. He is survived by his wife Barbara; children Dan (and Melanie) of Chandler and Marcie Dietz of Casper, Wyoming; his mother Eleanore of Scottsdale; and two grandchildren, Danielle and Jacob of Casper, Wyoming. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Sr. A memorial service will be held at Spirit of Joy Lutheran Church, 101 S. Main St. in Cottonwood on Tuesday, May 4 at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Spirit of Joy Lutheran Church Building Fund.
