Richard S. Morris, 86, Cottonwood died Monday, June 28, 2010. He was born April 10, 1924 in New London, Connecticut, the son of Richard Swan Morris and Elizabeth Warren Henderson. He was a graduate of Chapman Technical High School, Border Patrol Academy and New York School of Photography. He served his country as a staff sergeant in World War II and Korea. Mr. Morris worked for Lockhead Aircraft, US Border Patrol, US Department of Immigration and as a school bus driver. He served at several government details around the world, assisted with integration and in the civil rights movement. He also served with the Civilian Conservation Corps. His hobbies included photography, fishing, hunting, camping and reading. He will be remembered as a loving, generous husband, father and grandfather. Mr. Morris was preceded in death by his parents. He leaves his wife of 47 years, Eloisa Morris; three daughters, Patricia Shillito (Winston) of Tucson, Rita Elena Morris-Gross (Tommy) of Sanford, North Carolina and Eloise E. Morrris-Aguiluz (Marco Antnio) of Apache Junction; and five grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 1 in the Westcott Funeral Home from 5-7 PM. A funeral service will be held Friday, July 2 in the Westcott Funeral Home at 9:30 PM. Burial will be at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, Phoenix at 2 PM.
