Richard Marcus Odell

Richard Marcus Odell, 91 of Cottonwood, born on August 21, 1924 died on Saturday, June 11, 2016. "Digger" to his friends was preceded in death by parents J.T. Odell and Willis Agnes England. Richard served in the US Navy from December 1941 August 1984 and retired as a Chief Petty Officer/MM. Richard "Dick" Odell was a veteran and survived three wars; WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He was a member of the Cottonwood Mountain View United Methodist Church and is survived by spouse Marietta "Tudy" McFarlane-Odell and two stepdaughters; June E. Odell, mother of his four children: Gordon Edwin Odell, Dixie June Melvina Grace Odell Smith (Barry), James Richard Odell (Cheryl) and Ronald Mark Odell (Cindy); 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and 6 stepchildren with spouse Carol Ann Rogers-Odell (deceased). Funeral services will be held at Westcott Funeral Home on Saturday, June 18, 2016. Visitation will begin at 12:30pm with the service following at 1:00pm. Reception will follow at Mountain View United Methodist Church.
