Richard W. Coons, Sr., 84, of Cottonwood died October 28, 2010. He was born October 17, 1926 in Londonderry, New Hampshire, the son of George D. Coons, Sr. and Beatrice (St. John) Coons. He served his country in the Army during the Korean War where he received a purple heart, three bronze service stars and the United Nations Service Medal. Mr. Coons drove truck for 40 years, retiring at the age of 62. He enjoyed playing cards. the horse track, fishing, baseball and camping. He was preceded in death by his son, Richard, Jr and several brothers and sisters. Surving him is his wife Bertha (Champagne) Coons: his daughters Dalphene of New Hampshire, Regina of Florida and Sharon of Rhode Island; step children James, Pamela and Kathleen all of New Hampshire; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
