Robert Forrest

Robert Forrest, age 92 of Cottonwood, died on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at home. He was born in New London, CT on May 14, 1932, to Horatius R. Forrest & Evelyn M. Forrest. He attended church at Mt. View Methodist Church in Cottonwood.

Robert fought bravely as an Army paratrooper in the Korean war; he even jumped out of an airplane again for his 80th birthday. A retired tree surgeon, Bob loved to be outdoors, ran multiple marathons including the Boston marathon twice, enjoyed running, biking, and hiking while he was able, then walked. 

Robert preceded in death his beloved wife, Claire by one day. The couple had just achieved their 68th wedding anniversary three days previous to his passing.

Robert was survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Claire Forrest; son Dean Forrest of Cottonwood; daughters Tara Valentine of Cottonwood, Donna Forrest of Los Angeles, CA, Diana Forrest of Glendale, AZ, Sharon Forrest of Des Moines, IA and Barbara Forrest of Hollywood, FL; brother Ronald Forrest of Fort Pierce, FL; sisters Ruth McElroy of Raynham, MA and Shirley Neihouse of Tampa, FL; 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren

A joint memorial mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at 700 N. Bill Grey Rd, Cottonwood, AZ 86326 on Thursday October 17, 2024 at 11:00 a.m.
