Robert J. Tom, Sr., 90, of Kayenta passed away November 23 in Sedona. He was born January 25, 1922 in Pinon, Arizona, the son of Hosteen Whoosh and Chee B. He served his country in the Army during World War II and Korea as a Ranger. He worked at the Yemo Marine Base in Barstow, Arizona. Mr. Tom was an Assembly of God Pastor for 36 years. He will be deeply missed by all of his loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by two sons, Russell Tom and Robert J. Tom, Jr. and his brothers and sisters. Mr. Tom leaves his wife of 40 years, Martha Tom of Kayenta; sons Royston Tom of Phoenix and Alex Murphy; daughters Kathleen Tom-Garcia of Chandler and Roberta Taylor (Lloyd) of Mesa; fourteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. A visitation wil be held Thursday November 29 in the Westcott Funeral Home, Cottonwood from 5-7 PM. Military graveside services will be held on Friday November 30 at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona Cemetery in Phoenix at 12:30 PM.
