Robert Lee Stilson, 77, resident of Camp Verde, Arizona, passed away on Monday, April 24, 2006. He was born on June 30, 1928 to Robert and Anna Stilson in Forest, Washington. Robert attended school in Napavine, Washington. He served his country as a seaman in the U.S. Navy during WWII, in which he received the Victory Metal, and he also served during the Korean Conflict. Robert worked as a Machinist for Mill Wright. He was also a truck driver. Robert was said to be a \u0027Jack of all Trades\u0027, regardless of the object placed in front of him, he could figure it out, fix it and/or work it! Robert enjoyed Indian Aceology, genelolgy, rock collecting, and making jewelry out of silver and turquoise. He also enjoyed fishing, trains and dune buggies! Robert was a good man. He was kind and loving to everyone. He was generous to anyone in need. He truly was a friend to all. To know Robert, was to love him. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Anna Stilson; and his son-in-law, Gary Lee. Robert leaves behind his loving wife of 55 years, Margaret Jane (Thompson) Stilson, of Camp Verde, AZ; his son, Robert L. Stilson, Jr. with his wife, Peggy, of Longview, WA; his daughters, Margaret G. Lee of Winslow, AZ, Roxane L. Ballandby with her husband, Lynn, of Las Vegas, NV, and Pearl K. Cooper with her husband, Bobby, of Cottonwood, AZ; his brothers, Frederick Stilson of Seattle, WA and Charlie Stilson of Rochester, WA; his sisters, Charlotte Munn with her husband, Dan, of Bosie, ID, Barbara Post with her husband, David, of Washington, and Beverly Stilson of Tacoma, WA; sixteen grandchildren, Pennie Opipari of Las Vegas, NV, Chanda and Joe Goldsmith of Las Vegas, NV, Michael Ballandby of Las Vegas, NV, Joseph Opipari of Las Vegas, NV, Angel and Duane Lyons of Ely, NV, Harley and Lacrecia Talbot of Winslow, AZ, Todd Showalter, Jr. and Tiffany Showalter of Tucson, AZ, Little Charlotte, P.J. and David Borseth of Snowflake, AZ, Debra Cochran of Snowflake, AZ, Ruby Stilson of Centralia, WA; 21 great-grandchildren; former son-in-law, Todd Showalter of Tucson, AZ; and other in-laws, Debra and Leonard Merideth of Cottonwood, AZ. Robert is also survived by many other family members. Nieces include: Julie Anne Post, Sharon and Julian Bias, Faye White (and family), Susan (Dan) Wynn, Gail Stilson, Carolyn Stilson; nephews include: Jimmy Thompson, John Thompson, Jeff Thompson, Robert W.l Stilson, Donald Stilson, Bryan Stilson; cousins include: Charles Sherman, Chuck Gish, Ronald and Katherine Bradley, Paul Thompson, Sam and Linda Thompson, Mary and Salty Woods, Fred and Jerry Schurman, Pat Schurman, and Lloye Sherman; as well as, many friends, especially his best friend and dog, Babe. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 28, 2006 at 11:00am at Westcott Funeral Home, 1013 E. Mingus Ave., in Cottonwood, AZ. A Visitation was held on Thursday, April 27, 2006 from 3:00-5:00pm. It too, was held at Westcott Funeral Home. Private family graveside services will be held at a later date.
